Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's second-generation AI video model, released February 2026. It is the first commercially available model to generate video and audio simultaneously from a unified architecture — meaning dialogue, sound effects, ambient noise, and music are created in sync with the visual content, not layered on afterwards.
The model accepts four input types simultaneously: text prompts, reference images (up to 9), video clips (up to 3), and audio files (up to 3). This multimodal input system, combined with the @tag reference syntax, gives creators director-level control over generated output.
Output resolution reaches 1080p (2K on some platforms) with durations of 5 to 15 seconds per generation. The extend feature allows chaining clips into longer sequences. Character consistency, physics simulation, and multi-shot scene cuts are all handled natively.
